Incoterms 2020 made a significant update to CIP (Carriage and Insurance Paid To): unlike CIF which requires only basic Clause (C) cover, CIP now mandates that the seller procure comprehensive all-risks insurance compliant with Institute Cargo Clauses (A) or Institute Cargo Clauses (Air).
